The Princess Escapes

Read by Zoe Tseng
One day a girl named Bella was trapped in a castle. She was a princess who had gotten lost in the forest. While she was lost, she met a witch who had taken the form of an old lady.
“Dear, I’ll take you home,” the witch had said. But instead of taking her home, the witch took Bella to her castle. It was a tall castle and Bella was at the very top. The door was locked and the key was outside the door.
Bella was stuck there for three years until she was almost grown up. She thought for days about a plan to get out. One day she said, “I have an idea!”
First, she put pillows under her covers to make it look like she was there. Then she took a rope and put it out the window, and she climbed down all the way to the ground.
Bella went to pull the rope down, but she couldn’t because the witch was at the window!
Bella ran through the forest, but she got lost again. She thought of all the memories of when she got lost years ago. She thought of her mom and dad. Slowly she kneeled down and she cried.
Someone heard her. It was a baker from the town. The baker walked into the forest and saw Bella crying. The baker saw the witch running toward Bella.
“Get up and run!” the baker said. So Bella and the baker ran all the way to the town.
“The princess is home!” the baker said.
Everybody came to see her, and the king and queen hugged her.
They said, “Welcome back. We love you! We hope you like your new room in the palace. We are going to have a party. And a feast!”
When Bella got inside the palace, she saw all the new dresses she had. Her room was pink, and her bed was a four-poster bed with a curtain around it
Bella said, “I love it!”
